Let’s Rally for Ally!!!!

For those who do not know – our niece Allison, or Ally, (daughter of Scott & Mandy Niemiec) is a sweet 25-year-old who was previously healthy but developed post-viral complications leading to ME/CFS, POTS, and dysautonomia.

We’ve tried so many things and are still searching for the right help – but the right help comes with a cost since most of Ally’s care is being paid for out-of-pocket.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Ally moved to Washington, D.C. to continue her studies while working on research assignments at the National Institutes of Health. After 18 months of working in her research program, Ally’s health began to decline to the point of exiting her program, and moving back home. As we get to today, she’s been fully bed-bound for the past 8 months—unable to move on her own, dependent on a feeding tube, and extremely sensitive to light, sound, and touch. At this point, all medical care has to be handled at home, while under the care of her AMAZING “in-home” nurse and her parents, Scott and Mandy.

At this point, Ally isn’t able to take her eye mask or noise-cancelling headphones off, look at her phone, move on her own, have a conversation, listen to any extra words, receive a hug, etc.

What’s been almost as hard as watching her suffer… is how difficult it’s been to find real answers and proper care – that is why we’re asking for your support!!
